I am shamelessly in love with food. Not only that, I am REALLY good at making some tasty dishes for the health of myself and my family.
We eat mostly a plant based diet because heart disease and cancer run in my family and I like to keep our diet clean. We will occasionally indulge in a nice, lean filet or some farm raised poultry but for the day to day, you will find us eating more like this.
Not only is this salad extremely filling, it is full of healthy fats and HUGE flavor. Plus, it's very easy to put together! The ingredients in this salad are really beneficial for the skin. This is a fantastic vegan salad recipe for you and your family to enjoy!
Olive Oil is high in antioxidants to help protect your body from free radicals. Avocado is packed with fatty acids and vitamins C & E (also amazing for your skin). And finally, to be totally honest here...Tahini is a nearly perfect food for your body and for the health of your skin. Its benefits include copper, zinc, iron, calcium, Magnesium, B1, Selenium, fiber & protein.
Here is the recipe breakdown below:
A few handfuls of fresh salad greens (I use greens grown locally by Tassinong Farms here in CO)
Half of an avocado (sliced)
Shredded Carrots (however much you like)
Cuces (the cool way of saying cucumbers...and again...however much you want)
1/4C Blistered Sweety Drop Peppers (the star of the show here..you can get these on amazon. #worthit). Throw in a screaming hot pan and roll around until they have a little color (not burnt...just a little golden and crispy on a side or two)
My signature vegan caesar dressing. Oh what’s that you say? You want the recipe? OK! This recipe will serve 2 ppl! Double or triple for a crowd.
2 TBSP of Tahini
Juice from half a lemon
1 small minced garlic clove
a few pinches of pink salt
A pinch of black pepper
1/4 C olive oil (slowly whisk it in)
Enjoy this deliciousness, darling. Your body is going to LOVE you for that beautiful, skin loving food.
Ok, this is something that people get real confused on. Why in the WORLD would you want to put oil on oily skin?? I am asked this question a lot because I encourage my clients who have oily skin to do this and oftentimes they will, with reluctance, take my advice. And then they fall in love.
Lets first explain the breakdown of how the skin works when it comes to sebum production (this is what your body's natural occurring oil is called):
Our skin is constantly trying to maintain a balanced pH and oftentimes, the products we buy for our skincare routine can be extremely disruptive to this balancing act and trigger your body to produce more oil to repair your stripped lipid barrier.
Healthy, beautiful skin has normal sebum production and an in tact lipid barrier (this is the layer of oil on top of the skoin that protects skin and keeps essential moisture in).
When you wash your face with harsh soaps or use AHA's (alpha hydroxy acids...I love them, but you've gotta use them sparingly), it strips all of the oils from your skin. Many people think this is a great idea! They like the squeaky feeling of freshly washed skin BUT when you strip your skin, your body goes into a bit of a panic to compensate for that loss of protection that it worked so hard to produce (again, your lipid barrier). This becomes a vicious cycle for your suffering skin and creates a lot of frustration and A LOT of oil and unwanted issues.
Now lets talk about what happens when you introduce an oil product into your skincare regimen. Putting a non-comodegenic oil on your face (one that won't clog your pores because the molecule makeup is very small) sends a signal to your body that your skin is healthy and protected. Your body recognizes jojoba, argan, avocado, evening primrose oil & sunflower oils as it's own and will decrease it's own sebum production based on their presence. Oils to avoid would be cocoa butter, coconut oil, coconut butter, linseed oil, flax seed oil & palm oil to name a few as these oils clog pores and become problematic.
You can introduce an oil cleanser into your skincare routine if you'd like. A few of my favorite oil cleansers are:
And here are a few of my favorite face oils:
Do your skin a favor and introduce oil into your routine! As always, I'm here to help you!
I am a huge advocate for caring for your skin, the largest organ you have. I have hundreds of conversations with women every year that paint a very real picture of a few things to me.
1. We don't feel confident in our naked skin because we aren't 20 anymore. Aging is hard, but self care is essential to feeling your best. This is where I step in to guide you.
2. We have no idea what to put on our skin to protect and nourish it.
3. We have no idea how skincare should be working for us. Is it snake oil? A big lie? Am I just a sucker? The truth is skincare can be completely life changing.
I am here to introduce a line to you that WILL change the way your skin looks and feels. It's called Sanitas and I am going to explain WHY this Boulder, CO based line is so amazing.
1. All Sanitas Products are cruelty free and contain no Parabens, Phthalates, dyes, harsh preservatives or gluten.
2. You won't find a bunch of filler in these products. Many products contain less than 1% to 2% of functional ingredients, with ineffective fillers making up the rest. Sanitas products contain clinical doses of active materials and up to thirty-nine targeted ingredients in a single product. In fact, many Sanitas products are 100% active. That's truly amazing! Your skincare should be WORKING for you and Sanitas DOES!
3. Some fragrances and essential oils can cause allergic reactions and create skin sensitivities. That's why all of the Sanitas facial care products that remain on the skin are completely fragrance free and only essential oils that are medicinal in purpose are used.
4. The active ingredients in every Sanitas product are biogenic and chosen to boost the body's existing processes for healing and protecting the skin. Biogenic ingredients are substances found in biology and innately found in the skin.
You will notice that I have a little Sanitas shop on this website that I've proudly put together for my clients. I am so fortunate to have a partnership with them and offer their beautiful products to you. They are made right here in Colorado.
Each skincare consultation I provide takes about 5 minutes of your time. 5 minutes to you making one of the best decisions of your life. I want you to get in touch with me so we can get you there today.
Sometimes we can be a little sensitive. I'm not talking emotionally (this time).
Our skin can STRAIGHT UP FREAK if we exfoliate it. I am a LOVER of exfoliating though. I like the tingly burn and the baby soft feeling of my freshly exposed 'new skin' after wiping off the old, dull surface layer of dead skin (for a lack of a better description).
Hey, I'm sensitive too. Sometimes I can't do the super active exfoliating pads (hello Brightening Peel Pads...I love you but you're a once in awhile type of thrill for me).
This Gentle Refining Mask by Sanitas is a fairly new mask and it is really jaw dropping-ly gentle and effective. It is made with exfoliating and moisturizing ingredients like natural alpha hydroxy acids and hyaluronic acid to give you a clearer-looking complexion. My favorite ingredients are:
So not only is it an effective exfoliating mask, it has ingredients that actively work to soothe and keep your skin happy while the Caviar Lime is doing it's work. Amazing. I love Sanitas so much. My goodness...

I am not shy about how I feel about iconic lip colors. There are certain colors that have been spotted for decades on women every where from the red carpet of Hollywood to the 33rd floor of a Law Firm in NYC or on a mom of two toddlers at the park on a Tuesday afternoon in the spring, These are also colors that are in every single makeup artists kit. They are tried and trusted.
What makes a color iconic? Surely there has to be a reason why women reach for these colors over and over again. There has to be a reason why they are timeless.
It's because they make women feel POWERFUL. I am a bold lip evangelist. If an iconic bold lip makes a woman feel 'uncomfortable'? It has nothing to do with the lip color and everything to do with the lie she is telling herself. She is not bold enough. Pretty enough. Cool enough... It's my job to be the voice louder than her inner voice. PUT ON THE LIPSTICK and pay attention to how amazing it makes you feel when you ignore that lie.
Every woman can and should wear an iconic lip. It's WHY these colors have stood the test of time. They are for YOU.
I love all of the original iconic formulas but am not one to remember to reapply or even really want to because yes, I am that lazy. I love the LimeLight by Alcone Enduring Lip Colors wear for HOURS and don't transfer. They are also vegan, smell like dessert and don't dry out my lips. WIN!
When I was in my twenties, I did not give a single thought to my skincare routine. I was not handed the tools or knowledge to really grasp how important it was to take care of my skin from a younger age. When we are young, we are invincible. We don't think about things like losing collagen and elasticity, hyper pigmentation, the very real dangers of sun damage, drinking plenty of water so we don't stress our skin at the cellular level. All of those things... We don't think about.
Now that I am a licensed esthetician, I think about these things every single day. I am hell bent on reversing the damage I caused to my skin with years of neglect...I am a seeker of beautiful, effective, affordable options for myself and for my clients who have grown to trust me.
Furthermore, I am passionate about educating my clients, young and old, on the importance of using skincare that is FULL of ingredients with PURPOSE...not harmful fillers or fragrance.
You will notice on this website I have a little shop for Sanitas Skincare. This is my holy grail skincare line and it is a clinical line (being that it is available through trusted licensed estheticians and performs at a higher level than what you can get off the shelves of a department store).
I love this line for everything that it is and stands for. Below, I want to give a breakdown of my top three products for each type of skin. I am here to answer any questions for you if you need to chat in more detail about your goals and needs.
All of these pieces of skincare are available here on my website. Just click 'Shop Skin'.

I absolutely loved working with Brea for her wedding. Her makeup was a stunning contrast to the fall colors in the backdrop of her incredible photos taken by the talented Third Eye Photography.
Brea also had such a fun bunch of bridesmaids and family there to help her get ready for the big moment. I have picked a few of my favorite shots for you to enjoy! Getting married in Crested Butte in the fall is pure magic.
